Welcome to Rax Trax
Rax Trax Recording is a two control room facility in Chicago's Near North Lakeview neighborhood. The studio is situated in a one story stand-alone building on a quiet side street. No noise. No neighbors. Many excellent restaurants are within close walking distance - as are liquor stores and convenience stores - and parking is easily available in the large city lot adjoining the studio. The Rax Trax staff is technically experienced and well versed in music production. Whether you have a major label album or a local demo, our goal is to make your project satisfying and successful.
The Studios
Every part of our studios has been specifically designed for making records. Acoustically designed by Russ Berger, Rax Trax blends incredible sounding rooms with a comfortable work environment. The freedom to move between our two studios gives you ultimate flexibility to suit the needs of your project. You'll find that you are able to feel right at home while knowing the music you create here is going to sound amazing.

Rax Trax has built up an impressive collection of gear. We have vintage and modern instruments available for you to play and our skilled engineers have an equally extensive collection of excellent microphones and audio gear at their disposal to capture great sounds. In addition to our analog gear, we own a long list of plug ins and virtual instruments to suit your digital processing needs.
Our staff has over 100 years combined experience in virtually all genres of music.
